Bente Halvorsen

UX designer and front-end developer at Talentech Norway

Bente Halvorsen has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Bente is currently working as a UX designer and front-end developer at Talentech Norway since February 2020. Prior to this, they worked as an Interaction & UX designer at HR Manager Talent Solutions from August 2018 to February 2020.

In 2017-2018, Bente served as the UX & design lead at Highsoft AS. Before that, they worked as a freelance web, interaction, and graphic designer under the name "barebente" from October 2010 to November 2017. During this period, they handled various projects related to UI, UX, information architecture, interaction design, graphics, print, photography, illustrations, and prototyping.

Bente also has experience as an Interaction Designer at the Smithsonian Institution from April 2011 to July 2012. Bente worked as an office administrator at Det Norske Veritas from November 2010 to March 2011. Additionally, Bente was an Interaction Designer at Favourite Systems from November 2010 to March 2011, where they worked on coding, structuring, implementing web pages, company blogs, and information architecture.

In the earlier stages of their career, Bente worked as a Graphic Designer at Schneider Electric in July-August 2008. Bente also worked at Nortek AS from May 2001 to June 2007, where they served as a technician and designer, building and testing marine research equipment and handling graphic design tasks. Lastly, they worked as a Production Thrower at Judy Greene Pottery from August to November 2000.

Bente Halvorsen's education history shows that they first attended Gjettum ungdomsskole for primary school. Bente then went on to attend Nesbru videregående skole for art school and Sogn videregående skole for a foundation in the graphic industry. Bente continued their education at Sogn videregående skole, where they completed an apprenticeship in bookbinding, restoration, and handbinding. Bente further pursued their studies at Craftworks pottery skills school in Derry, Northern Ireland, specializing in production throwing.

In 2007, Bente enrolled in Østfold University College (HiØ), where they earned a bachelor's degree in digital media production. Bente'seducation journey continued at the University of Oslo (UiO), where they obtained a master's degree in informatics, focusing on design, use, and interaction.
