William Schaffer has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. William started their career as an Analyst/Associate at The McLean Group in 2012 and worked there until 2015. From 2015 to 2018, they served as a Corporate Finance Manager at KPMG UK. In 2017, they joined NorthInvest as an Investor Relations Manager and Entrepreneur Coach, where they worked until 2018. William then joined Mercia Asset Management PLC in 2018, initially as an Investment Manager and later promoted to Investment Director in April 2021. During their time at Mercia Asset Management, they also took on several board roles in different companies, including Board Observer positions at SatSense, Adventoris, and Tribosonics starting from 2019, and a Board Observer position at Airship starting from October 2019 until October 2022 when the company was acquired by Zonal. Currently, they are also serving as a Non Executive Director at Talion and Slingshot Simulations, starting from 2021 and 2023 respectively.
William Schaffer attended Wheaton Warrenville South High School from an unknown start year until 2005. William then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree at Princeton University from 2005 to 2009, majoring in History and German. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Series 79 and 63 from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in 2012. In 2015, they acquired a Level 3 Certificate in Corporate Finance from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). Lastly, in 2019, they completed the Venture Capital Foundation course offered by the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA).
