Jennifer Russell has over 15 years of work experience. Jennifer began their career in 2005 as a Recruitment Resourcer for MVM. In 2007, they took on the role of Consultant for ERS Ltd. In 2008, they became a Research Officer for The Institute for Volunteering Research. From 2010 to 2016, Jennifer held two roles at Samaritans, first as a Digital Project Manager and then as a Research Manager. Since 2016, they have been the Chief Operating Officer for TalkLife, a company that builds online peer support communities.

Jennifer Russell has a diverse educational background. Jennifer obtained a BA Hons in Geography, Business and the Environment from the University of Nottingham in 2005. Jennifer then attended the Open University and obtained a Conversion Diploma in Psychology between 2008 and 2011. In 2011, they completed a Certificate in Counselling from the Gestalt Centre, followed by a Professional Counselling Diploma from the same institution in 2014. Jennifer also attended Castle School, but the details of their studies there are unknown. In addition, they hold a Prince 2 Practitioner certification.
