JJ Xu

JJ Xu is the current CEO at TalkMeUp. Prior to this, JJ Xu was a Marketing Strategist at Magoosh from May 2017 to August 2017. At Magoosh, JJ Xu was responsible for conducting 100+ interviews with users, competitors and potential partners, and making go-to-market strategies. JJ Xu also designed the Ambassador Program, which reduced the traditional bulk sales operations costs by >80%. In addition, JJ Xu was responsible for Business Development & Market Growth. JJ Xu recruited and trained 16 university ambassadors, and led the team to profit $17K during the first month. JJ Xu also led the establishment and management of the online marketing portals (Wechat, Youku etc.), increasing new users by 25%, transactions by 74% and conversion rate by 42%.

Before Magoosh, JJ Xu was with Huawei Technologies from August 2012 to June 2016. At Huawei, JJ Xu was Channel Sales Manager. As Channel Sales Manager, JJ Xu managed HQ channel sales team of 8 in global channel business KPI making and monthly analysis, which led to an establishment of an analytical channel sales management process between HQ and overseas offices, improving data quality from 30% to 90%+ within 6 months. JJ Xu also co-managed Latin American and US channel business, including regional Business Plan review, channel policy localization, onsite contract negotiations and MKT campaigns. This drove up the US office revenue by 237% (global avg. 65%) and led Brazil and Mexico offices to the global top 5 among all countries. JJ Xu received their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business with a focus in entrepreneurship. Prior to that, they received their Master of Science - MS from Peking University in the field of microelectronics and solid state electronics. JJ started their educational career with a Bachelor's degree in EECS- Microelectronics from Peking University.
