Holly Nowell serves as the Smoke Science Program Director and Assistant Scientist, as well as the Geospatial Lab Director and Assistant Scientist at Tall Timbers Research Station & Land Conservancy since August 2022. Prior to this role, Holly Nowell worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Florida State University from May 2017 to August 2022. Holly Nowell holds a Master of Science in Geographic Information Science (2015-2016) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Meteorology (2010-2015) from Florida State University, along with a Master's degree in Meteorology (2007-2010) and a Bachelor of Arts in Earth and Planetary Science from Washington University in St. Louis.
