Leighton Curry began their work experience in 1997 as a Maintenance Technician at Aritech Ireland Ltd., where they focused on maintaining production test equipment and improving sensor testing processes. Leighton then moved on to Brennan & Co. in 1998 as a Scientific Support Engineer, managing the life cycle of various scientific systems and providing network and ICT support. In 2000, Leighton joined Oxygen Care as a Product Support Specialist, providing support for their products. In 2004, they became a Principal Clinical Engineer at A.M.N.C.H, and in 2015, they transitioned to Tallaght University Hospital, first as the Chief Clinical Engineering Technologist and then as the Head of Clinical Engineering Services.
Leighton Curry obtained a Master's Degree in Information Technology Management from Technological University Dublin during the years 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Hons in Engineering Technology from The Open University, spanning from 2005 to 2013. Leighton also possesses a Bsc (Open) in Applied Electronics from Technological University Dublin, which they acquired from 1994 to 1997. In addition, they attended Ballyfermot Senior College from 1993 to 1994, focusing on Audio Engineering and Multimedia Communications.

TUH is one of Ireland’s largest acute teaching hospitals, adult, psychiatric and age-related healthcare on one site. The Hospital has 495 adult beds with 3,000 people on staff. The Hospital is a provider of local, regional and national specialties. It is also a national urology centre, the second largest provider of dialysis services in the country, a national centre for Urology and pelvic and acetabular fractures. Robotic surgery started in 2020 and we have recently been designated as a Trauma Unit (one of two within the newly established trauma network). The Hospital also has 67 paediatric beds under the governance of Children’s Health Ireland and 52 mental health beds under HSE governance. TUH is one of the two main teaching hospitals of Trinity College Dublin - specialising in the training and professional development of staff in areas such as nursing, health and social care professionals, emergency medicine and surgery, amongst many others.
