Chief 2 Pharmacist Cancer Care at Tallaght University Hospital

Maeve Harty has a range of experience in the pharmaceutical field. Maeve started their career as a Pharmacy Intern at Naas General Hospital in 2009 and then worked as a Pharmacist at Bristol Royal Infirmary from 2011 to 2015, first as a Band 6 Pharmacist and later as a Band 7 Clinical Pharmacist. Maeve then moved on to Sligo University Hospital as a Pharmacist in 2015, specializing in respiratory medicine. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Clinical Pharmacist at Tallaght University Hospital, where they primarily work in the haematology and neurology teams. Additionally, Maeve is also the Chief 2 Pharmacist for Cancer Care at Tallaght University Hospital starting from February 2023. Maeve'sresponsibilities include ensuring the safe prescribing of medications for inpatient and outpatient settings.

Maeve Harty holds a Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Bath, which they obtained from 2012 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree in Pharmacy at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) from 2009 to 2010. Maeve'sundergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from Trinity College Dublin, specializing in Clinical, Hospital, and Managed Care Pharmacy, which they completed from 2005 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, Maeve has obtained additional certifications, including a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification - Level II from Tallaght University Hospital in 2022 and a Professional Diploma in Health Economics from the Institute of Public Administration in 2021.

Tallaght University Hospital

TUH is one of Ireland’s largest acute teaching hospitals, adult, psychiatric and age-related healthcare on one site. The Hospital has 495 adult beds with 3,000 people on staff. The Hospital is a provider of local, regional and national specialties.
