Sarah Delaney has a diverse work experience spanning several healthcare institutions. Sarah started their career as a Medical Scientist at Our Lady's Children's Hospital Crumlin in 2005. Sarah then moved to Tallaght Hospital in 2009, where they held various roles including Senior Medical Scientist, Acting Laboratory Quality Manager, and Quality Coordinator in Cellular Pathology. Sarah's most recent position was as the Chief Medical Scientist in Cellular Pathology at Tallaght University Hospital since March 2022.
Sarah Delaney received a Master's Degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Ulster, from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Sciences, General from Technological University Dublin, from 2000 to 2005. Additionally, they obtained a certification as a CORU registered Medical Scientist from CORU - Regulating Health + Social Care Professionals in 2021.

TUH is one of Ireland’s largest acute teaching hospitals, adult, psychiatric and age-related healthcare on one site. The Hospital has 495 adult beds with 3,000 people on staff. The Hospital is a provider of local, regional and national specialties. It is also a national urology centre, the second largest provider of dialysis services in the country, a national centre for Urology and pelvic and acetabular fractures. Robotic surgery started in 2020 and we have recently been designated as a Trauma Unit (one of two within the newly established trauma network). The Hospital also has 67 paediatric beds under the governance of Children’s Health Ireland and 52 mental health beds under HSE governance. TUH is one of the two main teaching hospitals of Trinity College Dublin - specialising in the training and professional development of staff in areas such as nursing, health and social care professionals, emergency medicine and surgery, amongst many others.
