Johnson Lau

Johnson Lau has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Johnson began their career in 1986 at Citi, where they held various positions in the Technology Head group, including Vice President, Senior Regional System Manager, Vice President, Technology Head, Taiwan, and Vice President, Technology Head, Japan. In 1997, they joined ABN AMRO Bank N.V. as Senior Vice President, Head of Capability Management, GTS Asia Pacific. Johnson then moved to Visa in 2002 as Head of Product Development, Visa Commerce, Asia Pacific. In 2005, they joined RBS as Senior Vice President, Head of Local Product and Channel Delivery, Asia Pacific. From 2010 to 2014, they were General Manager Transaction Banking at CITIC Bank International, and from 2014 to 2017, they were Senior Vice President at Mizuho Bank. Since 2018, they have been Director of Tallyx Pte Ltd, Singapore, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tallyx Inc, USA. At Tallyx, they are leading the creation of the Trade Obligation Protocol (TOP) to accelerate the world's transition to a frictionless, trustless and decentralized global trade environment. Johnson is also an Advisor (Corporate Strategy) at ONEPIP Group.

Johnson Lau attended Centennial Secondary School in Belleville, Ontario, Canada from 1973 to 1974, where they obtained their High School Diploma in Science subjects. Johnson then attended the University of Waterloo from 1975 to 1977, where they earned a B Math (Honor) in Computer Science and Operation Research.
