Scott McDermaid

Scott McDermaid has over 35 years of experience in the engineering field. Scott began their career in 1985 as a Hardware Engineer at Hughes Aircraft Company. In 1990, they moved to Megatek as a Senior Engineer. In 1994, they joined Tiernan Communications as an Engineering Manager. In 1997, they became a Senior ASIC Consultant at Hewlett Packard. In 1999, they were appointed Director ASIC Engineering at Aegis Broadband, where they created an ASIC design department to develop hybrid analog/digital and full digital Set Top Box ASIC's. Finally, in 2001, they became the CEO of Talon Communications, a company focused on Wireless Product Development & Manufacturing, currently focused on the cellular IoT space. Scott McDermaid received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota Mines in 1984. Scott then went on to pursue a Master of Engineering with a focus in Digital Signal Processing and Communications from San Diego State University, which they completed in 2002.
