Prior to their roles in sports marketing, Patrick gained experience as a Photo Editor at Expedia from June 2010 to September 2010. Patrick also served as the News and Issues Editor for the Chinook Yearbook at Washington State University from October 2009 to May 2010.

Patrick Abts completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Anthropology at Washington State University from 2007 to 2010. Patrick then pursued further education, earning a Master of Arts degree in Sports Administration and Leadership from Seattle University between 2010 and 2012.
