Jim Barrus

Jim Barrus has over two decades of experience in the HVAC industry, currently serving as the Area General Manager at Trane since August 2009. In this role, Jim leads the San Diego market business with P&L ownership encompassing equipment, service, and contracting revenue streams. Previously, Jim held the position of Director, Strategic Solutions & Controls for the Western U.S. at Trane, focusing on the growth and financial performance of contracting business in that region. Prior to Trane, Jim worked at Johnson Controls for 16 years in various roles including Account Executive, Operations Manager, Project Manager, Applications Engineer, and Controls Technician. Jim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with an emphasis on Operations Management from San Diego State University between 1996 and 2000.
