Tampa Bay Water
Solomon T. Erkyihun is a Water Resources System Engineer and Demand Forecaster at Tampa Bay Water since November 2017. Prior to this role, Solomon worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and streamflow simulations influenced by climate indices. Earlier experience includes a Research Assistant position at the University of Colorado Boulder, where Solomon developed techniques for streamflow simulation and predictability. Solomon also served as a Water Resources Specialist with the NILE BASIN INITIATIVE and as a Team Leader and Hydropower Specialist at the Ministry of Water Resources of Ethiopia, creating hydropower models and conducting hydrologic analyses. Solomon holds a PhD in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, a Master's in Hydropower Development from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from Addis Ababa University, and an Advanced Diploma in Hydrology and Water Resources Science from Arbaminch University.
