Erin Compaan

Erin Compaan has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. In 2014, Erin started their career as a Summer Intern at the United States Department of Defense. In 2016, they worked as a Mathematics Intern at the Software Engineering Institute | Carnegie Mellon University.

Erin then joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2012, where they served as a Graduate Teaching Fellow until 2017. During this time, they gained experience in teaching and academic support.

In 2017, Erin moved on to become an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow & Mathematics Instructor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they worked until 2019. They continued to pursue their passion for teaching and mathematics in this role.

From 2019 to 2021, Erin held the position of Senior Member of Technical Staff at Draper, showcasing their expertise and technical skills.

Currently, Erin is working at Tamr, starting as a DataOps Engineer in 2021 and being promoted to Senior DataOps Engineer in 2023.

Erin Compaan completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mathematics with a minor in Art History at the University of North Florida from 2007 to 2012. They then pursued further education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mathematics from 2012 to 2013. Following this, Erin earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mathematics from the same institution, graduating in 2017.

In addition to their formal education, Erin has obtained several certifications. In July 2021, they completed certifications in React Hooks, React.js Essential Training, React: Using TypeScript, and TypeScript: Object-Oriented Programming through LinkedIn. Furthermore, they obtained a Graduate Teacher Certificate from the Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning (CITL) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in April 2017.
