Nicholas Laferriere

Nicholas Laferriere has several years of experience in various roles within the field of DevOps and IT support. Nicholas started their career as an Information Technology Intern at Wayne J. Griffin Electric, Inc., where they managed a pilot program of tablets and provided helpdesk support. Nicholas then worked as a Student Ambassador at Google, followed by a System Analyst Intern at The Ayco Company, L.P., where they provided IT and infrastructure support services.

Nicholas then joined Verizon Enterprise Solutions as a DevOps Engineer before moving to SessionM, where they held roles as a System Administrator, DevOps Engineer, and Reliability Engineer. At SessionM, they introduced Docker for deploying microservices and migrated the company's system to DataStax Community. Nicholas was primarily responsible for ensuring uptime and availability of the production systems and managing the hybrid cloud platform.

Currently, Nicholas is working at Tamr Inc. as a Principal DevOps Engineer.

Nicholas Laferriere started their education in 2007 at Grafton High School, where they completed their high school education. Following that, from 2011 to 2014, they attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Technology and Web Science.

In terms of certifications, Nicholas obtained the AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in November 2019. Prior to that, in February 2019, they obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification from the same institution. Additionally, Nicholas holds a Cloudflare Innovator certification from Cloudflare, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
