Tristan Koopman has a diverse range of work experience spanning from 2016 to the present. Tristan began their career as a Software Development Intern at UnitedHealth Group, where they strengthened their programming skills and gained exposure to the Big Data landscape. In 2016, they also worked as a Tutor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they developed valuable leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to individuals of various backgrounds.

In 2017, Tristan took on the role of a Sensors Engineering Intern at MITRE, where they enhanced their programming and software development skills through running SAR algorithms and simulations in MATLAB. Tristan also obtained the necessary security clearance to participate in a classified project and developed their technical communication skills through writing a technical report and presenting the findings to their department.

Continuing their education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Tristan worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. During this time, they furthered their programming and data analytic skills by developing a pumped storage simulation model in Python, using libraries such as Numpy and Pandas. Their work focused on understanding the relationship between increased wind capacity on the grid and the operation of pumped hydro storage. Tristan also honed their communication and technical writing skills through presentations to their research team and writing an honors thesis.

In 2018, Tristan joined IBM as an AI Consultant, where they contributed as a Senior AI Consultant from 2020 to 2021. During their time at IBM, they leveraged their expertise in artificial intelligence to provide consulting services. Most recently, Tristan is working at Tamr as a DataOps Engineer, a role they have held since 2021, and where they subsequently took on the position of Senior DataOps Engineer in 2022.

Tristan Koopman began their education at Easthampton High School, where they pursued general studies from 2010 to 2014. After completing high school, they went on to attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2014 to 2018. There, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

During their time as an undergraduate, Tristan also had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Glasgow in 2017. Tristan engaged in further coursework in Electrical and Electronics Engineering as part of their bachelor's program.

In addition to their academic achievements, Tristan obtained a certification from Microsoft as a Certified Azure Data Scientist Associate in August 2020. This certification highlights their proficiency and expertise in the field of data science on the Azure platform.
