Humaira Taz

Humaira Taz, PhD, is a co-founder and technical lead at Omniply, where responsibilities include planning and executing prototypes and building client relations since December 2018. Additionally, Humaira serves as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at TandemLaunch Inc. and has contributed as a blogger and freelance writer for the Materials Research Society since November 2016. Previous experience includes a visiting PhD student at the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of iron-based materials, and a graduate research fellow at the University of Tennessee, where notable achievements included the discovery of a new class of multifunctional amorphous oxides, resulting in a provisional patent. Humaira has mentored undergraduates, published research findings, and presented at numerous conferences. Education includes a PhD in Energy Science and Engineering from the University of Tennessee and a BA in Applied Mathematics from Wesleyan College.
