Melinda Zalma is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in religious leadership, education, and community engagement. Since February 2021, Melinda has served as the Manager of Programs at TANENBAUM and has been a Chaplain with the US Navy Reserve since 1999, focusing on counseling and supporting a diverse population. Melinda has held various roles, including Teacher, Counselor, and Pastoral Guide at Open and Welcoming Judaism, and Program Director for the Women in Faith Fellowship at the Jewish Community Relations Council-NY. Additionally, Melinda has worked as a Rabbi at Congregation Bnai Israel Flieschmanns and Congregation Beth Mordecai, where efforts were made to revitalize congregational life and promote inclusivity. Melinda’s educational background includes a Rabbinic Ordination and a Masters in Midrash from The Jewish Theological Seminary, along with a BSEE in Electrical Engineering and Jewish Studies from Northwestern University.
