Phillip Aliker is a seasoned barrister and chartered arbitrator with extensive experience in dispute resolution, particularly in international commercial and construction arbitration, investment arbitration, and commercial litigation. Aliker has been affiliated with Tanfield Chambers since April 2004 and serves as an advocate and chartered arbitrator at Arbitration Chambers since May 2014. In addition, Aliker represents Uganda in Working Groups II and III at UNCITRAL since July 2017 and holds the position of Independent Non-Executive Director at Absa Group, overseeing the Credit Committee and contributing to several other committees. Aliker's memberships include the London Court of International Arbitration, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and ICAMEK, among others. A former designated member of the ICSID Conciliation Panel, Aliker's academic credentials include degrees from Vanderbilt University, the University of Leeds, Queen Mary University of London, and Paris-Pantheon-Assas University, with specializations in law, economics, and international arbitration.
