Mike Billy

Mike Billy has a diverse work experience. Mike started their career as a General Assignment Reporter at Illinois News Network in January 2013. Mike then became a State House Reporter, covering the State Legislature and managing publication of news stories and opinion pieces. In 2013, they also joined The Times as a Reporter, specializing in economic development, state government, breaking news, and craft beer reporting. In this role, they also wrote a monthly craft beer column called First Draft. In 2016, Mike joined Tangled Roots Brewing Company as the Head of Brewery Operations and Master Brewer.

Mike Billy studied English with a focus on Journalism at PennWest California from 2010 to 2012. In 2019, they enrolled at the Siebel Institute of Technology for the World Brewing Academy Concise Course in Brewing Technology, where they are currently pursuing their education.
