Jeanne Downen, currently serving as Vice President/Partner at TANGO International since October 2004, previously held roles such as Acting Director of HIV and AIDS at CARE in 2004. With a background in public health and international development, Jeanne also worked as the Director of Partnership and Household Livelihood Security at Care USA from 1997 to 2002. Jeanne has a Master of International Affairs in Economic and Political Development from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.

Our Mission Statement TANGO (Technical Assistance to Non-Governmental Organizations) is dedicated to providing long term institutional support to organizations engaged with the on-going struggle to alleviate hunger and poverty. Through the provision of quality technical assistance on a recurrent basis to our partner institutions, it is our aim to ensure that development programs implemented by these organizations will have the best chance of improving the livelihoods of their constituents. This assistance represents our long-term commitment to the empowerment processes pursued by individuals and communities. Our goal is to support institutional capacity building to achieve sustained impact. Drawing on diverse technical backgrounds, skills and experience, the staff of TANGO bring a holistic perspective to this support. Our technical assistance is of the highest quality and based on informed state of the art advice and solutions from past lessons learned and the current development experience.
