John Launchbury

Chief Technology Officer at Tangram Flex

John Launchbury has worked in the technology industry for over 20 years. John began their career in 1994 as a Professor at Oregon Graduate Institute at OHSU, where they led research on the development of semantic methods in modeling complex systems. In 1999, they joined Galois, Inc. as Chief Scientist, focusing on the technical challenges of privacy, security, and safety. John also served as CEO of Galois, Inc. from 1999 to 2014. From 2014 to 2017, they were the Director of the Information Innovation Office (I2O) at DARPA. Since 2018, they have been the Chief Technology Officer at Tangram Flex.

John Launchbury obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Oxford in 1985. John then pursued a Master's Degree in Computation from the University of Oxford from 1985 to 1986. Afterward, they attended the University of Glasgow from 1986 to 1989, where they obtained a PhD in Computing Science.
