Mahmoud Shams

Mahmoud Shams is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in legal operations, governance, and litigation. Currently serving as the Head of Legal Operations & Governance Division and Deputy Legal Director at Tanmeyah since June 2025, Mahmoud leads a team of 26 professionals across six specialized departments, focusing on optimizing legal efficiency and corporate governance within the NBFI sector. Previously, Mahmoud held various legal leadership positions at Attijariwafa Bank Egypt from June 2017 to June 2025, including Acting Head of Legal Division for both Litigation and Business Support, where significant achievements included delivering over EGP 130M in settlements and managing a substantial portfolio review. With a solid foundation in legal practice starting in 2004 and a Bachelor of Laws from Ain Shams University, Mahmoud has a diverse background that includes roles in major banks and teaching.
