Jonathan Tristao

Jonathan Tristao, PE, Assoc. DBIA has extensive work experience in the civil engineering industry. Jonathan started their career as a Student Volunteer at Engineering Ministries International (EMI), where they gained valuable experience in surveying, soil analysis, and water quality testing.

Jonathan then joined Hatch Mott MacDonald as an Engineer II, where they worked on drainage design reviews for the extension of Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). Jonathan also contributed to the design and construction management of wastewater system rehabilitation projects.

Tristao continued to excel in their career and was promoted to Engineer III at Hatch Mott MacDonald. In this role, they focused on designing and rehabilitating water and wastewater systems. Jonathan also collected survey data and created drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Seeking new challenges, Tristao joined Mott MacDonald as a Project Engineer, specializing in the water/wastewater group. Jonathan'sresponsibilities included the rehabilitation and installation of sanitary sewers, storm drains, water pipelines, pumping stations, and related structures. Jonathan used various construction methods, including trenchless technologies such as CIPP, pipe bursting, HDD, and guided-auger boring.

Tristao's most recent position is with Tanner Pacific, Inc., where they initially served as a Construction Manager before being promoted to Vice President. Jonathan focuses on heavy civil projects in the transportation and water and wastewater industries, with a specialization in underground utility projects, pump station projects, and trenchless technologies.

Throughout their career, Tristao has showcased their technical expertise, project management skills, and dedication to delivering high-quality results.

Jonathan Tristao obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering from South Dakota Mines from 2008 to 2012. Jonathan also holds additional certifications including Profession Engineer from the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists, Pipeline(PACP), Manhole (MACP) and Lateral (LACP) Assessment Certification Program from the National Association of Sewer Service Companies, and Engineer-in-Training from the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors & Geologists.
