Jonathan Morris-Pocock

Jonathan Morris-Pocock has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Software Developer (Internship) at TAO Solutions Inc. in 2013. In this position, they were responsible for developing an enterprise .NET application used in the structured finance industry. Jonathan also ported existing software to a new framework, utilizing C#, WPF, WCF, Entity Framework, and SQL Server.

From 2013 to 2014, Jonathan worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto, specifically for the course CSC148 - Introduction to Computer Science. In this role, they led a lab section and assisted students in Python exercises. Jonathan also marked student assignments and provided feedback on correctness, programming style, commenting, and organization.

In 2014, Jonathan joined Symantec as a Software Developer. Here, they worked on a team developing an enterprise cloud-based anti-malware and web filtering solution in C++. Jonathan was responsible for setting up and maintaining the team's build and test environment. Additionally, Jonathan created a web dashboard to collect, display, and analyze development metrics.

Returning to TAO Solutions Inc. in 2016, Jonathan started as a Software Developer and later became a Software Development Team Lead in October 2020. As a Software Developer, they developed a web application using a C#, ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, and Angular software stack. Jonathan also assisted in the design and architecture of several major application modules. In their role as a Software Development Team Lead, Jonathan was responsible for training and managing a team of software developers. Jonathan acted as an architect and major feature developer for two separate products, including a web application developed with a C#, ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, and Angular software stack.

Jonathan Morris-Pocock earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Queen's University from 2006 to 2010. Jonathan then pursued a Bachelor of Education degree specializing in Intermediate/Senior Biology & Mathematics at Queen's University from 2010 to 2011. Subsequently, Jonathan completed their education at the University of Toronto, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from 2012 to 2016.
