Bryan Shackelford

Bryan Shackelford has extensive experience as a Senior Systems Engineer. Bryan has worked for various companies, including Taos, Transplace, BNSF Railway, Verizon, HMS, DG, Tactura Network Services, and FIS.

At Taos, Bryan is currently a Senior Systems Engineer, responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Windows and RHEL infrastructure. Bryan works with virtual environments such as VMware, Nutanix, and Hyper-V, including Azure, AWS, Active Directory, Office 365, and Cohesity.

Prior to that, at Transplace, Bryan worked as a Senior Systems Engineer and was involved in the design, implementation, and support of Windows and RHEL infrastructure in Nutanix and VMware virtual environments. Bryan dealt with various systems and software, including Active Directory, Office 365, Cohesity, and SAN.

At BNSF Railway, Bryan served as a Senior Systems Engineer, specializing in the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows and RHEL systems. Bryan focused on applications like Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, SAN, and VMware.

During their time at Verizon, Bryan worked as a Senior Systems Engineer, handling the design, installation, and configuration of Windows and Ubuntu Linux environments in VMware ESX environments. Bryan maintained systems supporting Verizon's global point-of-sale program.

At HMS, Bryan was responsible for designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows and Virtual environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and VMware ESX environments.

Before that, at DG, Bryan deployed, configured, and supported server-side applications in a large, multi-OS environment. Bryan also worked on monitoring system performance and resolving issues on various Windows, UNIX, and Linux applications.

At FIS, Bryan worked as a Senior Field Support Engineer, providing infrastructure, network, and software support to the Financial Services industry. Bryan was responsible for administration, maintenance, performance enhancement, and disaster recovery of the RemitEnterprise installation.

Bryan Shackelford attended The University of Texas at Arlington from 1983 to 1989, where they studied Biochemistry. Bryan did not obtain a degree during this time. In addition to their education, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 1996, they became a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) through Microsoft. In 2000, they achieved the Sun Certified System Administrator for the Solaris Operating System certification from Sun Microsystems. In 2003, they obtained the CompTIA A+ certification from CompTIA. Most recently, in March 2019, they became a Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) through Nutanix.
