Sajid Sakarwalla

Sajid Sakarwalla has a diverse work experience in the jewelry industry and banking sector. Sajid has worked at Tara Jewels Limited from 2002 to the present, holding roles such as Vice President and Group Diamond Head. In these positions, they were responsible for managing the diamond operations, developing retail business, reducing costs, implementing budgetary controls, and setting up KPIs and SOPs. Prior to that, Sajid worked at Commerzbank AG from 2001 to 2002, where they held roles in precious metals and trust management as well as financial accounting and RBI reporting. In the latter role, they aided in the closure and winding up of Indian operations.

In 1983-1994, Sajid attended Christ Church High School and obtained their I.C.S.E. degree.

From 1994-1999, they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Financial and Management Accounting from JAI HIND COLLEGE, MUMBAI.

Following that, from 1999-2001, Sajid studied at SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) and earned a Master of Management Studies (MMS) degree in Finance, focusing on Business Administration and Management, Finance.

In 2020-2021, Sajid pursued a Post Graduate degree in Data Analytics from Purdue University, specializing in Python, R - Programming, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI.

Additionally, Sajid has obtained several certifications to enhance their skills. These include Tableau Training, Data Science with R, Data Analytics with Python (from IBM), R Programming for Data Science (also from IBM), and Statistics Essential for Data Science (all from Simplilearn). Sajid also holds certifications in Accredited Jewelry Professional and Graduate Diamonds from GIA, which were obtained in 2014 and 2013, respectively.
