Chief Accounting Officer at Target Hospitality

Jason brings over 18 years of experience in public accounting, hospitality accounting and finance to Target Hospitality. He joins us after 6 years with Highgate Hotels, L.P., a third-party hotel management company, where his last position was Chief Accounting Officer in their Irving, Texas corporate office. While there, he was responsible for overseeing the Company’s global accounting services platform as well as the corporate accounting department, which included oversight of over 60 corporate accounting personnel, including the internal audit department, the financial planning and analysis team, the treasury department, accounting EVP/VP’s, corporate controllers, and over 200 hotel level accounting personnel servicing the financial accounting, reporting, auditing, and treasury needs of over 60 global ownership groups in both the private equity and public REIT space. Jason led Highgate’s Domestic and European accounting expansion/centralization set-up as well as Highgate’s global accounting systems implementations to meet both domestic and international accounting and tax regulatory requirements and driving efficiencies across the platform to streamline the Company’s accounting operations for accelerated growth. During Jason’s tenure with Highgate, the Company grew by over 250% in both number of properties and people and Jason was responsible for restructuring the accounting platform to meet the needs of this accelerated growth and was also the financial lead on several recapitalizations of the Company.

Prior to Highgate, Jason worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP where his last position was as Senior Audit Manager in the Dallas, Texas office. While there, he serviced public and private companies across multiple industries with a heavy concentration in the hospitality industry, including hospitality real estate investment trust (“REIT”) clients. Jason has over 6 years of experience working on publicly listed REIT's, specializing in hotel properties. He has also managed the audit of a real estate company initial public offering and participated in and managed engagements relating to internal control evaluations, due diligence procedures in connection with business combinations, SEC offering procedures, and carve-out (Rule 3-05) audits of hospitality (hotel) entities resulting from portfolio acquisitions by public entities to meet SEC filing requirements. Jason also worked in the Hartford, Connecticut and Orlando, Florida offices of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP during his tenure with the firm.

Jason also has several years of additional industry experience with General Electric (GE Asset Management) and Siemens in financial reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and corporate accounting roles.

Jason received a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Bentley College and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.

Jason was born and raised in Connecticut, but has lived in Germany, Massachusetts, Florida, and Texas. Jason and his family have lived in Allen, Texas for the last 10 years. His wife, Simone, is from Berlin, Germany. They have two sons, Justin and Tyler.
