Farzane Takbiri

Farzane Takbiri, PhD, is an experienced professional in the field of applied science and machine learning, currently serving as Lead Applied Scientist at Target since 2024. Prior to this role, Farzane held the position of Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Walgreens Boots Alliance from 2023 to 2024 and worked as a Senior Data Scientist at both Facebook and Meta from 2020 to 2023. Farzane's earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Data Scientist and Computer Vision Engineer at Cargill from 2018 to 2020, where contributions were made towards computer vision applications in food safety and sustainability. Farzane's academic background includes a PhD in Engineering with a focus on Applied Statistics and a double Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Minnesota, along with additional master’s and bachelor’s degrees in engineering from IUST and the University of Tehran, respectively.
