Johannes (Hansie) Odendaal has over 30 years of work experience in software engineering, system engineering, and control systems. In 2018, they began working as a Senior Rust Developer and Head of Research at Tari Labs, where their objective is to bring blockchain and crypto closer to normal non informed end users and to make it easy to use. From 2014-2018, they worked as a System Engineer at Denel Land Systems, where they were part of the engineering team producing the product baseline for the Badger infantry fighting vehicle for the South African National Defence Force. Johannes (Hansie) Odendaal attended High School Ferdinand Postma from 1981 to 1985. Johannes (Hansie) then attended North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit, where they obtained a B.Eng. in Electric and Electronic Engineering from 1986 to 1989, an M.Eng in Control Systems and System Identification from 1991 to 1994, and an M.Eng - Cum Lauda in Nuclear Engineering from 2005 to 2007.
