Tarion
Chafik, also known as Chuck Murad, has extensive experience in the building science and warranty services sectors, currently serving as Technical Manager for Risk and Common Elements at Tarion Warranty Corporation since May 2006. Responsibilities include collaborating with Underwriting on technical risk analyses for new condominium projects, conducting site assessments, and providing training to vendors and builders. Previous roles include Manager of Stakeholder Relations at Tarion, where outreach and support to vendors in Southwestern Ontario were emphasized, and Field Review Manager at McClymont & Rak Engineers Inc. Chafik's earlier positions include quality control and engineering roles with firms such as Peto MacCallum Ltd. and C&M Consulting Engineering Services, along with a significant tenure at the Department of Engineers. Academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Building Science from Ryerson University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Damascus University, supplemented by a Building Science Certificate from the University of Toronto.

Tarion
Tarion is an independent not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting Ontario’s new home buyers and owners through the province’s new home warranty and protection program. Tarion helps consumers protect one of their most significant purchases by guiding them through their rights and responsibilities under the new home warranty, so they can make informed decisions throughout the warranty claim process.
