Melanie Kearns is an experienced communications professional with a robust background in strategic communications and marketing. Currently serving as the Director of Strategic Communications at Tarion since August 2017, Melanie previously held positions at the Canadian Liver Foundation from October 2000 to August 2017, including Vice President of Marketing & Communications and National Director of Marketing & Communications. In these roles, Melanie was instrumental in establishing the Foundation as a leader in liver health awareness and in managing comprehensive communication strategies. Earlier experience includes serving as Communications Manager at A.G. Simpson Automotive Inc. and Communications Specialist at Extendicare. Melanie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Honours English with a focus on Rhetoric & Professional Writing from the University of Waterloo.

Tarion is an independent not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting Ontario’s new home buyers and owners through the province’s new home warranty and protection program. Tarion helps consumers protect one of their most significant purchases by guiding them through their rights and responsibilities under the new home warranty, so they can make informed decisions throughout the warranty claim process.
