Simon Lange has extensive experience in various roles within the shipping and accounting sectors. Currently serving as a Shipping Coordinator at TasPorts since April 2016 and fulfilling the role of Acting VTS Manager, Simon has successfully managed responsibilities while assisting with the recruitment of a long-term manager. Prior positions include Project/Application Support Analyst and Accountant at AFL Tasmania from March 2007 to February 2022, Field Umpire for the Tasmanian Football Umpires Association, Treasurer at WLF Accounting & Advisory from February 2014 to April 2016, Senior Auditor at Australia Post from November 2011 to January 2014, and Mail Clerk. Simon holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting from the University of Tasmania, completed between 2011 and 2013, and attended Rosny College during 2009 to 2010.

TasPorts is a state-owned company responsible for eleven Tasmanian ports and the Devonport Airport, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As an island state, Tasmania is reliant upon shipping, port infrastructure and port operations to sustain our communities and our economy. Each year 99% of the State’s freight moves through the TasPorts multi-port network. Working collaboratively, we work to deliver upon our vision to proudly connect people, products and solutions for the benefit of all Tasmanians. We are responsible for Tasmania’s four major ports of Bell Bay, Burnie, Hobart and Devonport. Beyond our major ports, we are also responsible for the management of a number of smaller community ports around Tasmania; Beauty Point | Inspection Head, Port of Lady Baron | Flinders Island, Whitemark Harbour | Flinders Island, Currie Harbour | King Island, Port of Grassy | King Island, Port of Stanley | North West Coast and Port of Strahan | West Coast.
