Purnendu Khan

Purnendu Khan has extensive work experience in various companies. Purnendu is currently the Head of Admin & Estate at TATA SONS LIMITED since 2018. Prior to this, they worked at Tata Housing Development Company Limited where they held multiple roles including Asst Vice President - Strategy & Business Excellence, Head of Technical Training & Process Excellence, and General Manager - Strategy & Business Excellence. Before Tata Housing, Purnendu was the Dy General Manager - Business Excellence & Corporate Quality Head at TATA AutoComp Systems Ltd. Purnendu also worked as the Head of Technology & Industrial Engineering at Pidilite Industries Limited and as the Manager of Industrial Engineering & Technical Services at GHARDA CHEMICALS LIMITED. Purnendu started their career at ACC Limited as an Assistant Manager in Process Engineering & Productivity Services. Purnendu has expertise in areas such as strategic operation, business excellence, process management, quality assurance, improvement projects, benchmarking, and productivity improvement.

Purnendu Khan's education history begins in 1981 when they attended Palpara G High School and obtained their Madhyamik degree. Purnendu then enrolled in Shyampur High School from 1983 to 1985 and received a Higher Secondary degree, studying subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, and Bengali. After completing their schooling, Purnendu pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Chemical Engineering Subjects at the National Institute of Technology Durgapur from 1985 to 1989.

Continuing their education, Purnendu joined the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, from 1989 to 1991, where they obtained a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Industrial Engineering & Management.

In addition to their formal education, Purnendu Khan has acquired several certifications. In 2017, they completed the Train The Trainer program at Dale Carnegie Training. In 2014, they earned the Six Sigma Black Belt certification from QIMPRO, ASQ, Mumbai. That same year, Purnendu received the CII EXIM Bank award for Business Excellence as an external assessor from the Confederation of Indian Industry. Purnendu also attained the BELP (Business Excellence Leadership Program) Gold rating from Tata Quality Management Services. In 2013, Purnendu became a Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA) through the American Society for Quality (ASQ).
