Simone Vooijs

Simone Vooijs possesses extensive experience in the steel industry, currently serving as Director IT and Director Operations for Tata Steel in Europe, overseeing the operations of Packaging Steel across multiple countries with a workforce of 1,300 and an output of 1.2 million tonnes primarily for packaging. Vooijs previously held several key positions within Tata Steel, including Director Technical and General Manager Product Management & Process Technology, where responsibilities included strategic technology program development and forming new departments. Vooijs also held managerial roles at Corus, focusing on customer technical service and continuous improvement projects. In addition to current roles at Tata Steel, Vooijs is a Member of the Supervisory Board at LeydenJar Technologies B.V., and serves as the Chair of the Accountability Body for Stichting Pensioenfonds Hoogovens. Vooijs holds an MBA from the University of Warwick and a degree from Delft University of Technology.
