Vice President - TQM, Group Strategic Procurement & Supply Chain

Peeyush Gupta is Vice President – TQM, Group Strategic Procurement & Supply Chain. His responsibilities include sourcing of strategic raw materials, industrial gases and IT for Tata Steel Group (India, the Netherlands, and the UK) and revenue procurement (comprising bulk commodities, MRO - Maintenance, Repair & Operations, consumables, services and transportation) for Tata Steel India and the UK.

In Supply Chain, he is responsible for group shipping for Tata Steel’s Indian and European operations, integrated planning across production plants, processing of steel across regions, raw material logistics across manufacturing plants and mine sites as well as the movement of finished products to domestic and international customers.

Prior to moving to his current role, he was leading the commercial responsibility for Tata Steel’s Indian operations as Vice President (Marketing & Sales). He has over 30 years of experience at Tata Steel.

He chairs the board of TM International Logistics Limited, Creative Port Development Private Limited, Subarnarekha Port Private Limited, Jamipol Limited and Mjunction Services Limited. He is also a member of the boards of three Tata Steel subsidiaries and associate companies – Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited, Tata NYK Shipping Pte. Ltd., Singapore and Tata Steel Global Procurement, Singapore. He also chairs the Business council of Agrico and Bearings Division of Tata Steel. He was engaged with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Eastern Region as Chairman of the West Bengal State Council in 2021-22.

A Mechanical Engineer, he is an MBA from McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He is a Chevening Scholar from Leeds University, UK and has completed senior management development programmes at CEDEP and INSEAD, France.
