Rakesh Kumar Sharma

Rakesh Kumar Sharma is a seasoned professional in the steel industry with extensive experience at Tata Steel. Currently serving as Sr Area Manager for Business Development in the Steel Recycling Business, Rakesh is responsible for sourcing and supply chain management of steel scrap, while also enhancing and digitalizing the procurement function for better visibility across the value chain. Prior roles at Tata Steel include Executive Assistant to the VP of Safety, Health, and Sustainability, where Rakesh coordinated with senior leadership during the COVID crisis, and various managerial positions focusing on mechanical maintenance and process safety management for blast furnaces. Rakesh holds an Executive MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur.
