Tate Modern Director at Tate

Karin Hindsbo currently serves as the Director of Tate Modern since September 2023. Prior to this role, Karin Hindsbo directed the Nasjonalmuseet for kunst, arkitektur og design from June 2017 to June 2023, and held directorial positions at Kode Kunstmuseer og komponisthjem and SØRLANDETS KUNSTMUSEUM / KUNSTSILO between February 2014 and January 2014, and January 2012 to January 2014, respectively. From January 2009 to December 2011, Karin Hindsbo was the Artistic Director of Kunsthal Aarhus and also served as Editor in Chief for Øjeblikket Journal of Contemporary Art from 2003 to 2011. Additional roles include Managing Director at Den Frie Udstillingsbygning, Chairman of the Board at UKK Unge Kunstnere og Kunstformidlere, Part-Time Associate Professor at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, and Curator at Overgaden - Institute of Contemporary Art. Karin Hindsbo obtained a Master’s degree in Art History from Aarhus University between 1994 and 2002.
