Desmond Tong

Desmond Tong has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Desmond has worked at Tate & Lyle as the VP Global Operations, handling operations in the APAC region and serving as a business partner for growth markets. Desmond also held the position of Director of Operations Integration and Supply Chain APAC at the same company. Prior to that, they worked at Syngenta as the APAC Head of Field, APAC Head of CP Manufacturing, and APAC Head of Supply, overseeing operations in multiple countries. Additionally, Desmond worked at The Dow Chemical Company as the APAC Supply Chain Director and Global Business External Manufacturing Leader, as well as the Global Raw Materials Manager and APAC Procurement Manager. Desmond began their career at BP, where they held various roles such as APAC Supply Chain Development Manager, Plant Manager, Engineering Manager, and Plant Engineer. Throughout their career, Desmond has demonstrated expertise in supply chain management, operations integration, and strategic footprint establishment.

Desmond Tong holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in International Finance from Imperial College London. Prior to that, they attained a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from the National University of Singapore. Additionally, Desmond has obtained several certifications, including ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System Auditor/ Lead Auditor from Sgs United Kingdom Ltd, Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) from The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply, and a Graduate Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health from Singapore Polytechnic. Desmond also holds a Specialist Diploma in Occupational Health from Esis Inc.
