Nelson Veras

Nelson Veras, MBA, has a diverse work experience in project controls and cost management. Nelson started their career at Codelpa, where they established a project controls system and acted as a liaison between contractors and finance. Nelson then joined Hatch, where they worked as a site cost engineer for a gold mining project, provided project controls support for the Saskatchewan office, and served as a project controls/cost engineer for a large-scale project. Following their time at Hatch, Nelson joined The Mosaic Company as a senior project controls engineer, providing support on major capital projects and managing project commitments and costs. Currently, they are working at Tate & Lyle as a project controls lead. Overall, Nelson Veras has a strong background in project controls, cost management, and portfolio management in various industries such as mining, utilities, and chemicals.

Nelson Veras, MBA has a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of South Florida. Nelson completed their MBA in 2022, specializing in Business Administration and Management, with a focus on Data Analytics. Prior to pursuing their MBA, Nelson Veras obtained a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Utah State University.

In addition to their formal education, Nelson Veras has also obtained various certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Nelson completed a course on Managing a Diverse Team from LinkedIn in September 2022, and a course on Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, also from LinkedIn, in June 2022. Furthermore, they completed a Management Communications Course from Harvard Business Publishing Education in November 2020. Nelson Veras has also acquired a certificate in Power BI: Dashboards for Beginners from LinkedIn Learning in November 2020.
