Maria Fernanda currently works at Taxfyle as a Business Analyst, where they lead the product development process, conducts initial discovery, facilitates design processes, defines user stories, manages project risks, and sets up performance metrics. Maria Fernanda oversaw data entry, management, and analysis of UN indicators and collaborated with government officials and UN representatives to develop policies for improving quality of life.

Maria Fernanda Ruiz obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidad de Piura, which they attended from 2016 to 2018. Maria Fernanda later pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Political Science at the University of Rochester, starting in 2018 and graduating in 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Maria Fernanda also obtained various certifications. In January 2021, they completed the "Data Science Methodology" course offered by IBM through Coursera. In August 2020, they obtained certifications in "Data Management for Clinical Research" from Vanderbilt University through Coursera, as well as "Tools for Data Science" from IBM through Coursera. In July 2020, they obtained the "Bloomberg Market Concepts" certification from Bloomberg LP. Lastly, in July 2020, they completed the "Databases: Relational Databases and SQL" course offered by Stanford Online through edX.
