Shelley Ackerman has a wealth of experience in various roles within the flooring and furniture industry. Shelley began their career as a Space Planner and Interior Designer at Chase and then worked as an Interior Designer and Project Manager at Bergmann Associates. From there, they became the Director of Interior Design at Mossien Associates, where they oversaw the quality of projects and served as a liaison between clients, owners, and contractors.
Shelley then transitioned into the flooring industry, starting as a Territory Sales Manager at Armstrong World Industries. Shelley focused on building relationships with specifiers and contractors, successfully developing previously underperforming territories. Shelley continued their career at Armstrong Flooring, Inc., where they held various positions, including National Sales Representative and Business Manager of Commercial Strategic Accounts. In these roles, they collaborated with customers to secure product specifications, negotiated contracts, and managed the execution and logistics of orders.
Most recently, Shelley worked at National Business Furniture as an Account Executive and Interior Design Consultant, where they tackled a new challenge in the office/commercial furniture space. Currently, they are the Director of OEM Sales + Commercial Buying Groups at TAYLOR Adhesives, where they support private-label business and explores new product opportunities with customers.
Throughout their career, Shelley has showcased their expertise in sales, project management, and relationship building. Shelley is known for their ability to drive results and their passion for delivering quality products and services.
Shelley Ackerman completed an Organizational Leadership Program at Liz Bentley Associates in 2016. Prior to that, they received an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Interior and Architectural Design from Cazenovia College between 1987 and 1989. Shelley also attended Palmyra-Macedon High School, although the duration of their studies and the degree obtained are unknown. In addition to their formal education, Shelley obtained the National Counsel for Interior Design Certification (NCIDQ/CIDQ) from the Council for Interior Design Qualification in 1997.
