Laura Beken

Laura Beken has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Laura currently holds the position of TCA Director - Portfolio and Syndication at Tech Coast Angels since February 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Business Advisor at Octane OC from July 2021. Throughout their career, Laura has also served as a Business Consultant at SBDC @ UCI Applied Innovation starting from July 2018. Laura has previously held the position of Manager at the Medical Intelligence and Innovation Institute (MI3) at Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children's) from July 2015 to November 2018. In addition, Laura has experience as the President of the Healthcare Innovation Network, where they facilitated collaboration between healthcare providers and innovators, aiming to improve care quality and reduce costs. Laura served in this role from January 2015 to December 2015. Prior to their work in the healthcare sector, Laura held various roles, including Publication Manager and Editor at PNN: Physicians News Network from January 2012 to January 2015, Vice President at HandBookLive from 2008 to July 2012, Software Engineer at Synergy Microsystems from 1998 to 2001, and Web Designer at Scripps Institution of Oceanography from 1998 to 1999.

Laura Beken completed a BA in Media/Visual Arts and a BA in Psychology at UC San Diego from 1993 to 1996. Laura then pursued a Healthcare MBA at the University of California, Irvine - The Paul Merage School of Business from 2016 to 2018.
