John Downing

John Downing has extensive experience in environmental compliance and safety management within the natural gas sector, currently serving as the US Gas Operations Safety Manager at TC Energy since April 1996. In this role, John supports safety initiatives across natural gas pipelines and gas storage facilities, leading a team of safety specialists. Prior positions at TC Energy include Regional Safety Representative and Field Environmental Specialist, focusing on safety support and environmental compliance. Before joining TC Energy, John worked as an Environmental Scientist at Braun Intertec, conducting environmental inspections and assessments, and as an Environmental Specialist at Ecology and Environment, providing technical assistance for emergency responses. John holds a Bachelor of General Studies in Environmental Studies from The University of Kansas.
