Dave Newbern

Dave Newbern has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Dave started their career in 1995 as an Internet Developer/WWW Specialist at K&C Federal, where they worked on the Telemedicine Project at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. From 1996 to 1999, they worked as a Systems Engineer/Technical Consultant at Onsite Technologies, providing IT and networking services to various companies.

In 1999, Dave joined Comsat as a Sr. Network Administrator, and when Comsat was acquired by Lockheed Martin Global Telecommunications, they continued their role there until 2000. At Lockheed Martin, their responsibilities included managing the Microsoft network environment and various servers and applications.

From 2000 to 2002, Dave worked as a Sr. Network Administrator at Lockheed Martin, focusing on managing the Global Telecommunications division's network environment.

In 2002, they joined Telenor Satellite Services as a Network Administrator and was responsible for network design, implementation, and managing business applications. Dave also played a key role in the divestiture and migration to a new network for several locations.

Dave then moved on to Vizada, Inc. in 2008 as a Manager, Application Infrastructure. Their responsibilities included developing and managing Vizada's global network structure and standards.

In 2012, Dave became the IT Director at Airbus Defense and Space SatCom Government and was responsible for managing corporate IT systems, ensuring availability and compliance. Dave also oversaw various areas such as IT road map, budget forecast, project planning, vendor management, and cyber-security. One of their significant accomplishments was redesigning and deploying a new Information System to replace aging systems and meet federal standards.

From 2018 to 2023, Dave worked as the Director of Systems Engineering at Satcom Direct. Lastly, in 2023, they joined TCOM, L.P. as the Director of Information Technology.

Dave Newbern earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland. Dave attended the university from 1990 to 1995.
