Brandon Schomberg

Therapist at Twin Cities Orthopedics

Brandon Schomberg, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, CSCS, is a Board Certified Orthopedic and Sports Specialist who provides dynamic sports and orthopedic physical therapy care to athletes of all levels and abilities. He also leads and manages TCO’s west metro therapy locations and enjoys creating an environment where patients “experience the difference” when they are in to see a TCO provider.

In addition, he serves as TCO’s Sports Physical Therapy Residency Director, a program developed within TCO in 2022. The mission of the Sports Physical Therapy Residency is to create an advanced, highly skilled, specialty-trained sports physical therapy practitioner built on a foundation of sports science, research, and world-class sports medicine expertise. The Sports Residency will exemplify the organizational culture expectations for quality service to the patients and athletes, and support the mission, and values: integrity, service, innovation, teamwork, and quality.

He enjoys working with the rotational and tactical athlete by challenging individuals throughout the entire rehabilitation process to safely return to sport or duty. He provides an individualized approach and includes proper education along the way for future success and performance returning to sport, work duties or recreational activities. He has assisted with the development of TCO’s Golf Medicine program. This innovative program works with athletes of all ages and skill level, and includes both a specialized rehabilitation and performance component. Brandon’s experience with a patient population recovering from a wide variety of orthopedic surgeries allows his patients to gain confidence to safely return to activity. Brandon is involved in TCO’s Sports Medicine Program, and works directly as part of the sports medicine team by providing care to collegiate athletes, surrounding high schools, and professional athletes.

As a key to the success of any sports medicine program, Brandon believes in a multidisciplinary approach to caring for the ‘everyday weekend warrior’ up to the highly competitive athlete. Thus, he consults with a team of fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons, peers in the physical therapy and athletic training professions, local golf professionals, strength coaches, personal trainers, massage therapists, and team coaches to apply knowledge on performance enhancement and injury prevention.

In addition, he received his combat action badge in the U.S. Army, and serves as the Brigade Physical Therapist for the Minnesota Army National Guard. With over 15 years as a proven leader in various roles in the U.S. Army, he uses his experience to mentor Soldiers, build high-performance teams, and establish cultures of safe and functional physical fitness. In his free time, Brandon enjoys spending time with his family, playing with his two children and dogs. He enjoys golf, learning, traveling, hiking, mountain biking, and enjoying all the Minnesota seasons.
