Head Of Business Analysis at TEACH FIRST

Nick Catlow started their work experience in 2004 at the Highways Agency as the Deputy Facilities and Telecoms Manager. In this role, they managed the business requirements of 12 directorates and had a budgetary responsibility of £3.8m. Nick also had direct line management of four staff and was responsible for organizing workloads, staff appraisals, training, and setting objectives.

In 2008, Nick moved to Ofqual where they took on various roles. As the Risk & Delivery Manager, they defined business requirements for a new IT system, managed the established system, and worked directly with the IT provider to adopt ITIL principles. As the Data Services Manager, they oversaw the collection of General Qualifications datasets, ensured data quality, engaged stakeholders, and developed BI solutions, apps, reporting, and dashboards. Lastly, as the Lead Business Analyst, they contributed to the strategic and operational development of digital services across the organization.

Currently, Nick is working at Teach First as the Head of Business Analysis starting in 2023.

Nick Catlow attended Thomas Beckett Upper School from 1988 to 1992. Nick obtained 11 GCSEs, including Maths and English. In addition to their formal education, Nick has obtained several certifications, including the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis, BCS Certificates in Requirements Engineering, Systems Development Essentials, and Business Analysis Practice, as well as the BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis. Nick also holds certifications in ITIL v3 Foundation, Prince2 Practitioner, and Level 3 NVQ in Customer Services.
