Lorena Chavez is an experienced education leader with a diverse background in school community partnerships and educational administration. Currently serving as Vice President of School, Community, & Policy at Teach For America – Bay Area since June 2022, Chavez has held multiple roles at Teach For America since 2015, focusing on building equity-minded alumni teacher communities and developing strategic partnerships across various school districts. Prior to this, Chavez held leadership positions at ACE Charter Schools, where responsibilities included overseeing academic programs and maintaining school culture, and at Rocketship Education and the Alum Rock School District, where Lorena contributed to curriculum development and student support initiatives. Chavez holds a Master’s degree in Education from Alliant International University and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Sociology from the University of California, Davis.
