Maria Gaytan-Martinez

Maria Gaytan-Martinez is a dedicated education professional currently serving as a Positive Youth Development Educator at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since April 2023 and as a Corps Member with Teach For America since June 2019. Previously, Maria worked as a Youth Organizer for Leaders Igniting Transformation from October 2021 to February 2023 and as a Special Education Teacher at St. Augustine Preparatory Academy from August 2019 to October 2021. Early career experience includes roles as a Policy Intern with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation from March 2018 to May 2019, a Psychology Intern at Advanced Therapeutic Solutions from June 2018 to August 2018, and a Congressional Intern with the Office of Congressman Brad Schneider from June 2017 to April 2018. Maria holds a Bachelor's degree in Government and Psychology from Georgetown University and a Master's degree in Special Education and Teaching from Alverno College.
