Deepak Satwalekar

Mr. Deepak M. Satwalekar was the Managing Director of HDFC Ltd until 2000, and thereafter the Managing Director and CEO of HDFC Standard Life Insurance Co. Ltd until 2008. He has also been a consultant to the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (HABITAT). Deepak is a recipient of the ‘Distinguished’ Alumnus Award’ from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, where he is on the Advisory Council. He is the Chairman, Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management, Indore, and has chaired or been a member of several industries, Governments and Reserve Bank of India expert groups.
